Thomas Rawls

Thomas Rawls the leader in Seahawks' backfield on Sunday

Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls rushed 2 for 5 yards in Sunday's preseason opening victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

What It Means:

Rawls has worked with the first team throughout camp, so it wasn't surprising to see him getting the touches on the Seahawks' opening drive ahead of Eddie Lacy, who didn't log a snap until Trevone Boykin entered the game. Currently being drafted in the double-digit rounds of fantasy drafts, the third-year back could prove to be a steal for owners this season.

numberFire's models believe Lacy will wind up leading the Seahawks' backfield in 2017, and therefore Rawls is projected for only 425.4 rushing yards and 3.80 touchdowns on 108.8 carries, with another 125.6 yards and 0.49 scores through the air on 16.1 catches. He's the RB51 overall in our 2017 rankings.
