Paul Perkins not impressing Giants this offseason

New York Giants running back Paul Perkins "hasn't blown anyone away" this summer, according to ESPN reporter Jordan Raanan.

What It Means:

Perkins compiled just three yards on five carries in the preseason opener. His longest run was a seven-yarder on the game's opening carry, and prompted head coach Ben McAdoo to comment that Perkins could have done more. "He has to make him miss and he has to run him over," said McAdoo. "We have to at least get a first down on that play." Perkins continues to split first-team snaps with Orleans Darkwa, who ran for 18 yards on three carries Friday night.

Our models project Perkins as the 29th-best fantasy running back in 2017, with 816 rushing yards and 3.23 touchdowns on 195 carries, adding 24 receptions for 185 yards and 0.54 scores. His ADP as the RB28 is right about on with our projections, and perhaps he'll become a value pick after this news.
