Bilal Powell (neck) will not play in Jets' preseason opener
New York Jets running back Bilal Powell (neck) will be held out of the Jets' preseason opener on Saturday.
Powell has been sidelined or limited in practice this week. The team is undecided about Matt Forte's (hamstring) status for Saturday. It's hard to envision him suiting up. Neither injury is serious, but camp has gotten off to about as poor a start as possible for the tanking Jets.
numberFire's algorithms project Powell for 677 rushing yards and 6.01 touchdowns on 138 carries, adding 40 catches for 280 receiving yards and 0.79 scores. Our models also peg Forte for 158 carries while the 31-year-old racks up 700 rushing yards and 3.79 touchdowns, as well as 27 catches for 214 receiving yards and 0.45 scores. Both are back-end third running backs for fantasy purposes.
