Jeremy McNichols' understanding of Buccaneers' playbook lacking

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie running back Jeremy McNichols "needs to get in his playbook," head coach Dirk Koetter said.

What It Means:

McNichols was called out by running backs coach Tim Spencer during Tuesday night's premier of Hard Knocks. It's not good, but most rookies go through an adjustment phase. McNichols figures to get plenty of run in the preseason opener, as he tries to give Charles Sims a run for passing-down work. Sims remains well ahead.

Our models project Sims as the 57th-best running back for fantasy football in 2017. We allot him 291 rushing yards and 1.63 touchdowns on 78 carries, adding 31 receptions for 282 receiving yards and 1.08 touchdowns.
