Leodis McKelvin

Bills' Leodis McKelvin on Reserve/NFI, will miss first six weeks

The Buffalo Bills placed cornerback Leodis McKelvin on the reserve/non-football injury list, meaning he will miss the first six weeks of the NFL season.

What It Means:

McKelvin fractured his ankle last November, so this will put his recovery out to almost a year from that injury. He had a setback earlier this summer, and the team is hoping the additional time will allow him to get back up to speed.

Second-round pick Ronald Darby has been looking impressive in preseason action, and he will step into McKelvin's shoes opposite Stephon Gilmore. Darby was originally projected at 62 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 10 passes defensed, but a large portion of that may go Darby's way now. Passing attacks love to pick on rookie cornerbacks, and Darby's IDP numbers may thrive if they challenge him.
