Colts' Dan Herron leaves Thursday's game with shoulder injury
Indianapolis Colts running back Dan Herron left Thursday's preseason finale with a shoulder injury.
The severity of the injury has not been diagnosed. Herron is currently slotted as the backup running back to Frank Gore on the Colts depth chart. The handcuff in Indianapolis can be a valuable player due to Frank Gore's age and injury history.
The Colts ranked 27th in our schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Herron ranked 25th out of 60 running backs with at least 75 carries with a -0.03 Rushing NEP per carry last season. Our algorithms project Herron to finish the year with 341 rushing yards, 3 rushing touchdowns, 18 receptions, and 127 receiving yards.
