Browns had no interest in trading Brock Osweiler to Dolphins
The Cleveland Browns were "not interested" in trading quarterback Brock Osweiler to the Miami Dolphins, ESPN's Adam Schefter said on the Dan Patrick Show.
It does not sound like the Dolphins ever officially made an offer, but Cleveland's lack of interest in moving Osweiler is notable, especially after they named him the starter for the first preseason game. It remains possible the Browns are just trying to drive up the price on a future trade, but there's a much stronger chance today that Osweiler opens the season as Cleveland's starter than there was yesterday.
Among the 39 quarterbacks to pick up at least 100 drop backs in 2016, Osweiler's was seventh-worst in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back. Cody Kessler ranked 17th in the same analytic.
