Golden Tate likely to play slot for Lions in 2017

Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate is expected to see more snaps in the slot this season.

What It Means:

The majority of Tate's targets came in the slot his first two seasons in Detroit, but he ceded those snaps to Anquan Boldin last year. With Boldin out the door, Tate should see more time inside this season, but he expects to thrive no matter where he lines up. "I mean, I had 1,000 yards last year playing from the outside and I had 1,000 yards my first year playing both, really," Tate said. "So I think it’s unique that I can execute outside or inside."

Tate is valuable no matter where he lines up, and our models project him for 1,067 receiving yards and 5.53 touchdowns on 94 catches as our 21st-best wide receiver in fantasy this year.
