Jacob Tamme exits Falcons' game early with back injury
Tight end Jacob Tamme exited the Atlanta Falcons' fourth preseason game Thursday night with a back injury.
Tamme took a big hit to his lower back on a first-quarter catch. He stayed down on the field for a little bit, but ended up walking off the field. He is officially questionable to return, but he is almost certainly out for the game. Tamme has not generated much buzz in training camp, but he's still listed as the starter.
The Falcons ranked seventh in the NFL in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points metric last season, so there will be plenty of yards and touchdowns to go around even though most production will be funneled through Julio Jones and Roddy White. We project Tamme to finish the season with 41 receptions, 354 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.
