New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard (right leg) was carted off the practice field Wednesday.
Shepard was apparently in tears as he was being carted off, so this doesn't sound good for the second-year wideout. If he's forced to open the year on the shelf, that will likely mean more targets for Brandon Marshall. Tavarres King, Roger Lewis, and Darius Powe could all see additional opportunity as well.
Prior to this report, numberFire's models projected Shepard for 59.3 catches and 688.5 receiving yards with 4.61 touchdowns in the upcoming season.
