Packers receiver Jeff Janis 'hasn't won over' Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers second-year receiver Jeff Janis is behind rookie Ty Montgomery on the depth chart because Janis "hasn't fully won over his quarterback yet."

What It Means:

Aaron Rodgers apparently doesn't yet trust Janis enough for him to have a significant role in Green Bay's offense. "Jeff will have some great days and some days where mentally he's making too many mistakes," Rodgers said. "The talent and athleticism is there. We just need to see from all those guys battling for those two spots just some more consistency." At 6-foot-3, 219 pounds and the owner of a 4.42-second 40-yard-dash, Janis has the size and speed to be a producer if he gets into the starting lineup.

The Packers ranked first in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points metric last season. Our algorithms project Montgomery to finish the season with 21 receptions, 257 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. Janis is slated for 36 grabs for 477 yards and 3 scores.
