Earl Thomas (shoulder) expected to play Week 1 for Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas (shoulder) is expected to play Week 1 against the St. Louis Rams. Head coach Pete Carroll said Thomas is as ready to go 'as we can get him.'
Thomas has not played this preseason after major shoulder surgery this offseason. Fellow Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor continues to holdout for a new contract. Rookie Dion Bailey will likely start if Chancellor's holdout continues into the regular season.
The Seahawks ranked third in our schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points metric. Our algorithms project Thomas to finish the year with 91 tackles and two interceptions.
