Patriots' Julian Edelman not dominant in red-zone
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman converted only 13.3% of his red-zone targets and 11.1% of his targets inside the ten-yard line last season.
The Patriots' offseason additions of Brandin Cooks, Dwayne Allen, Rex Burkhead, and Mike Gillislee – all extremely efficient players near the goal – should mean a decrease in Edelman's scoring area looks. Edelman was targeted 15 times in the red zone last season and only converted twice, which may lead the efficiency-oriented Patriots to send more targets toward the now-healthy Rob Gronkowski.
Our models project Edelman for 1,043 receiving yards with 5.01 touchdowns on 99 receptions.
