Giants don't expect Victor Cruz to practice this week
New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz (calf) is not expected to practice this week, said Giants head coach Tom Coughlin.
The Giants insist the injuries aren't related, but Cruz is coming back from a torn patellar tendon, an injury that frequently leads to "compensation" injuries in other areas of the body. Cruz has no known timetable for return.
The Giants ranked 13th in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Cruz ranked 54th out of 97 receivers with at least 40 targets with a 0.62 Reception NEP per target last season. Our algorithms project him to finish the season with 72 receptions, 862 yards, and 5 touchdowns.
