Atlanta's Desmond Trufant (chest) on track for training camp
Atlanta Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant (chest) is ahead of schedule and likely to return for training camp.
Trufant suffered a torn pectoral in late November and required surgery to repair it. Despite that, the Falcons decided to extend Trufant a five-year, $69 million deal in April. So, when healthy, Trufant will be asked to be the team's true shutdown corner and build on the success he had in years one through three.
Through 57 regular season games, Trufant has accounted for 48 pass defenses, 7 interceptions and 172 tackles for his career. Our algorithms project him for 8 pass defenses, 2 picks and 58 tackles in 2017-18.
