Packers' Randall Cobb leaves game with shoulder injury
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb left Saturday's preseason game with a shoulder injury.
We are still awaiting details of the injury, but Cobb returned to the Packers sideline later in the game. The Packers cannot afford to lose Cobb after losing Jordy Nelson last week to a season-ending knee injury.
The Packers ranked first in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Cobb impressively ranked second out of 40 wide receivers with at least 100 targets with a 0.94 Reception NEP per target last season. Our algorithms project Cobb to finish the year with 95 receptions, 1,335 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns, if he remains healthy.
