Robert Griffin III still in concussion protocol
Robert Griffin III (concussion) will not be cleared for Saturday's preseason game.
Griffin needed as much time as possible in preseason to solidify his grasp of this offense and prove he's back from injury. At this point, the Washington Redskins have to be considering long-term solutions, including cutting him in 2016. Expect Kirk Cousins to start in his stead.
Griffin has played atrociously since his sensational rookie year, and his career is hanging on by a thread. Last year, his Total Net Expected Points ranked him 41st among 43 qualifying quarterbacks, as even his Rushing NEP production couldn't salvage his year. He's not worth rostering in any but the deepest fantasy leagues at this point.
