Trent Richardson

Raiders' running back Dyer could push off T-Rich?

ESPN reporter Bill Williamson believes that Oakland Raiders rookie Michael Dyer has a shot to bump Trent Richardson off the final 53-man roster.

What It Means:

Dyer went undrafted and unsigned out of Louisville in the 2015 Draft, only winning a preseason roster spot with Oakland thanks to a strong rookie minicamp showing. He's followed that up in training camp, according to coaches. Richardson, on the other hand, has been able to accrue just 23 yards on 10 carries through his preseason action with the second-string.

Richardson is hanging onto his roster spot by a thread. The former third Overall selection of the 2012 NFL Draft is now being outplayed by an undrafted rookie. It's been a long fall from grace for T-Rich, who ranked 35th in per-play Rushing Net Expected Points out of 43 running backs with more than 100 carries last season. He may be out of a job sooner than expected.
