Jaguars could cut T.J. Yeldon in surprise move
Jacksonville Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon could be a surprise cut, First Coast News' Mike Kaye thinks.
Kaye thinks Chris Ivory will be first-round rookie Leonard Fournette's change-up back early on before Fournette takes over the three-down role, leaving Yeldon only "a handful of snaps on offense per game." As primarily a strong receiver out of the backfield, Yeldon is a much better complement to Fournette's skill set than Ivory, and his contract costs much less.
The Jaguars finished 2016 with the seventh-worst rushing attack in the league in terms of schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points per play.
