Brock Osweiler impressing Browns at OTAs

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brock Osweiler has "impressed" at Browns OTAs, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

What It Means:

One player told Schefter that he "wouldn't be surprised if Brock is QB1 heading into camp in July." Cody Kessler opened OTAs as the starter, but Osweiler, by all accounts, has been the most impressive quarterback in Browns practices. ESPN's Tony Grossi believes rookie DeShone Kizer is "gaining on" Osweiler and Kessler. This competition will carry over into preseason action.

Among the 39 quarterbacks to pick up at least 100 drop backs in 2016, Osweiler's was seventh-worst in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back. Kessler ranked 17th in the same analytic.
