Seahawks say Russell Wilson 'looks great moving around'
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson "looks great moving around," head coach Pete Carroll said.
"It just feels so much different than it did for so long of that season," Carroll said. "So we’ve got to take care of him, look after him, and have tremendous expectations for Russell’s performance next year." This is a good sign after Wilson ran just 72 times for 259 yards (3.6 yards per attempt) last season in what was easily the worst rushing year of his career as he battled a high-ankle sprain and sprained MCL. Look for Wilson to return to high-end QB1 status in 2017.
Among the 39 quarterbacks to exceed 100 drop backs last season, Wilson finished 16th in Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back. Of the 18 signal-callers to rush 25-plus times, Wilson was second-worst in Rushing NEP per attempt.
