Washington expects running back Matt Jones to return to the team at some point, according to head coach Jay Gruden.
"He’s on our roster, he’s eating up a spot," Gruden said. How long he will remain on the roster is the question, however, after Jones said he was told he is no longer in the team's plans, a fact made clear by the decision to draft rookie Samaje Perine.
On 99 rushes in 2016, Jones racked up -0.03 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt.
