Chiefs Dontari Poe progressing well from back surgery
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said defensive tackle Dontari Poe has "made big strides" and is "a little bit ahead" of schedule on his recovery from back surgery.
Poe underwent surgery to remove a herniated disk in his back more than a month ago. Poe has been named to the Pro Bowl during each of the last two seasons, and he is an integral part of the Chiefs defensive line. Reid opened the idea that Poe could play in the regular season opener against the Texans.
The Chiefs ranked 18th in our schedule-adjusted Defense Net Expected Points metric last season. Our algorithms project Poe to finish the year with 56 tackles and 6.5 sacks. We place the Chiefs as our 10th-ranked fantasy defense for this season.
