Julius Thomas

Dolphins designing plays specifically for Julius Thomas

Miami Dolphins tight end Julius Thomas is "going to be a thing" this year, and the team has "multiple plays" designed just for him, the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero believes.

What It Means:

Most good offenses do design plays for their best players, but this is important in Thomas' case after the Jacksonville Jaguars completely misused him in his time there. He has reunited with Miami head coach Adam Gase, who orchestrated a Denver Broncos offense that enabled Thomas to catch a whopping 24 touchdowns in 27 games from 2013-14.

Thomas averaged 0.42 Net Expected Points per target last season, finishing 29th out of the 32 tight ends with at least 50 targets.
