Bears' defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff suspended first three games of season
Chicago Bears defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff has been suspended the first three games of the 2015 season for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Ratliff -- who formerly went by the name Jay -- was arrested for driving while intoxicated in January of 2013 and pleaded guilty in April of this year. Ratliff was an All-Pro selection in 2009 and 2011 while with the Dallas Cowboys.
Ratliff played in and started 11 games for the Bears last year, recording 6.5 sacks and 21 tackles. Despite Ratliff's contributions, the Bears finished 27th in both our schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play and Passing NEP per play.
