Patriots likely won't cut Dion Lewis
The New England Patriots to hold onto running back Dion Lewis, ESPN's Mike Reiss expects.
The Patriots are well-stocked at running back following the additions of Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee but Lewis was still a standout at OTAs last week. Per Reiss, Lewis hit the line of scrimmage with a "noticeable burst" at Thursday's practice session. Lewis isn't going to be an every-down player but Reiss could see him logging about 15-20 snaps per game while also serving as the Patriots' primary kickoff returner.
Among the 69 running backs last year to top 50 carries, Lewis's 0.10 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt was 10th-most.
