New Orleans Saints receiver Nick Toon suffered a high-ankle sprain in Saturday night's preseason game and will be shelved two to three weeks.
High-ankle sprains are a notoriously slow injury from which to recover, putting his availability in doubt -- not just for the opener but for the first couple games.
It's awful timing for Toon, who was looking to be the team's No. 3 receiver. Instead, that job will go to camp star Brandon Coleman, at least to start the season.
