Trevor Siemian should beat out Paxton Lynch for Broncos' starting gig
Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian is a heavy favorite over Paxton Lynch for the starting job, Mike Klis of 9News Denver said.
The MMQB's Peter King asked Klis for his "gut feeling" on Denver's quarterback competition. Siemian was passable as the Broncos' starter last year but Denver didn't draft Lynch to be a spectator. The 2016 first-rounder offers a higher ceiling than Siemian and should be given every opportunity to start Week 1. Even if Siemian holds off Lynch, we're guessing he'll be on a fairly short leash.
Siemian came in 26th in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back among the 39 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs in 2016.
