Chiefs' Kareem Hunt could overtake Spencer Ware as a rookie
Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back Kareem Hunt leading the team in rushing this season and leading their running backs in receptions, ESPN reporter Adam Teicher foresees.
Teicher expects Hunt to become the Chiefs' feature back as a rookie, supplanting incumbent Spencer Ware. The Chiefs traded up to draft Hunt in the third round of this year's draft, after Ware's hot start last season rapidly petered out. Charcandrick West should settle in as Kansas City's third back this year.
After averaging 5.2 yards per carry (YPC) through the first six games of 2016, Ware averaged only 3.6 YPC over the final eight contests. Out of the 42 running backs to see 100-plus attempts, his -0.07 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt was 11th-least.
