Leonard Fournette won't be handed Jaguars' starting gig
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back and fourth overall pick Leonard Fournette has to "earn" the starting job, says head coach Doug Marrone.
"Obviously he's shown that ability, but at the same sense, when you have the team, the one thing about a team is you have to earn that," Marrone said. "So he's going to have to go and show that he has to do that." This is what you call coach speak. Fournette will open the year as the starter and dominate the majority of the work in the Jaguars' backfield for as long as his health allows.
The Jaguars finished 2016 with the seventh-worst rushing attack in the league in terms of schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points per play.
