Corey Clement has legitimate shot to make Eagles' roster

Philadelphia Eagles undrafted rookie running back Corey Clement thinks he has a "very realistic" chance to make the final roster.

What It Means:

Clement said he signed with the Eagles partly because he grew up rooting for them but also because of their wide open depth chart. With Ryan Mathews (neck) expected to be cut once he is healthy, the Eagles lack a proven early-down option to pair with receiving Darren Sproles. Wendell Smallwood will likely get the first crack at that role, but Clement could earn not only a roster spot but playing time with a strong summer.

The Eagles' backfield accrued 0.01 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per attempt this season, the 16th-best rate in the league.
