Lions won't confirm interest in LeGarrette Blount
The Detroit Lions declined to say if they have interest in free agent running back LeGarrette Blount via head coach Jim Caldwell.
The Lions are talking up Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick, but have been linked to Blount after not drafting a running back. Detroit's interest could potentially be complicated from Blount's May 9 tender. The Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants are among the other teams that have been connected to Blount.
On his 299 carries last season with the New England Patriots, Blount earned 1.38 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP). His 0.00 Rushing NEP per attempt was 18th among the 42 running backs to top 100 carries this season.
