Gavin Escobar returns to Cowboys practice
Dallas Cowboys tight end Gavin Escobar returned to practice Friday after missing two practices with concussion-like symptoms.
Escobar is currently slotted as the number two tight end on the Cowboys depth chart behind Jason Witten. Escobar produced five receptions for 47 yards in the Cowboys preseason opener against the Chargers.
The Cowboys ranked third in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points metric last season. Our algorithms project Escobar to finish the year with 14 receptions, 212 yards, and four touchdowns. Jason Witten is entering his 13th season in the league, and if he gets injured Escobar could step into a prominent receiving role.
