Cardinals' John Brown had cyst removed from his spine earlier this year

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver John Brown had a cyst removed from his spine in January.

What It Means:

In addition to sickle-cell issues, Brown's 2016 campaign was also plagued by a cyst that caused him to fatigue easily. "I was sleeping too much. I couldn’t eat right. My body just wasn’t in it," Brown said. "I couldn’t do anything, really. I was just drained out." The 27-year-old wideout now says everything is back to normal, making him a popular bounce-back candidate for the 2017 season.

Brown was limited to 73 targets last season, the first time in his career he received less than 100 looks. Among the 74 receivers with 70-plus targets in 2016, Brown ranked 32nd in Reception Net Expected Points per target.
