Malcolm Butler fully committed to Patriots for 2017
New England Patriots defensive back Malcolm Butler reported to voluntary workouts this week.
What It Means:
Butler is believed to be "all in" for 2017 in New England. A potential trade with the New Orleans Saints had put his status on hold temporarily, but it doesn't sound like there's any love lost between the two sides. Entering his age-27 season and on a one-year deal, Butler will look to cash in big as a free agent next offseason.
The Patriots ranked 11th last season in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play.
