Eric Ebron's fifth-year option picked up by Detroit

The Detroit Lions exercised tight end Eric Ebron's fifth-year team option for 2018.

What It Means:

Ebron has just seven total touchdowns in three NFL seasons and hasn't ever played more than 14 games, so this wasn't a guaranteed move. The option is guaranteed for injury only, allowing the Lions to bail next offseason if Ebron doesn't show enough on the field.

Ebron came in ninth in Reception Net Expected Points per target among the 32 tight ends to top 50 targets this season.
