Rodney Adams scooped up by Vikings at 170th pick
The Minnesota Vikings selected South Florida wide receiver Rodney Adams with the 170th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Adams made 29 starts for the Bulls after transferring from Toledo, and earned second-team All-American Athletic Conference as a junior and senior. While Adams is slippery after the catch with 4.44 speed, his slight 6'1", 189 pound build and poor ball security are big concerns after Adams dropped far too many passes and fumbled five times as a senior. He’ll likely be on special teams in the pros.
Adams compiled 1,967 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns on 135 catches, finishing second in USF history in each category. He could be a candidate to replace Cordarrelle Patterson on kickoff returns.
