Jeremy Sprinkle heads to Washington at pick 154
Washington selected Arkansas tight end Jeremy Sprinkle with the 154th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Sprinkle, 6'5", 252 pounds, shared time with Hunter Henry in college before emerging as a full-time player in 2016. He has long 34 1/2" arms, huge 10 3/4" hands, respectable 4.69 speed, and was one of the top pass-blocking tight ends in college football. Sprinkle also offers special teams experience, which will be his ticket to an NFL roster spot initially.
Sprinkle caught 380 receiving yards on 33 receptions (11.5 yards per reception) with 4 touchdowns as an 11-game starter. Pro Football Focus charted Sprinkle with only five drops among 72 catchable targets over his final three seasons. He's a good pass-blocking complement to move tight end Jordan Reed, and will eventually replace Vernon Davis.
