Chiefs trade up to select Jehu Chesson

The Kansas City Chiefs traded up with the Minnesota Vikings to select Michigan wide receiver Jehu Chesson with the 139th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.

What It Means:

Chesson, who comes in a sturdy 6'2", 204 pounds, made 25 starts for the Wolverines. He earned first-team All-Big Ten from the conference’s coaches in 2015 but slipped to honorable mention last year. Chesson did help himself in Indy, running 4.47 in the 40 and showing explosion with an 11'0" broad jump. Chesson is old-ish for a rookie and was a body catcher on tape, who profiles as a short-area possession receiver in the slot.

Chesson collected 1,639 receiving yards on 114 catches (14.4 yards per reception) with 12 touchdowns in his Michigan career. His arrival is a direct threat to the likes of Albert Wilson, who was barely clinging onto a role.
