Broncos nab speedster Carlos Henderson at 82nd pick
The Denver Broncos selected Louisiana Tech wide receiver Carlos Henderson with the 82nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
The diminutive Henderson (5’11", 199 pounds) returned kicks throughout college and put his shiftiness on display as Pro Football Focus credited him with a nation-best 48 missed tackles forced last season. Henderson was "impossible to cover," with 4.46 jets and an explosive broad jump (10’11"). He profiles as a dynamic slot-flanker with field-flipping special teams value.
Henderson racked up 1,535 yards on 82 catches (18.7 yards per reception) with 19 touchdowns after failing to hit 800 yards in each of his first two seasons. Denver's receivers were just 19th-best in Reception Net Expected Points per target in the league in 2016.
