Saints swing deal to acquire 67th pick, select Alvin Kamara
The New Orleans Saints traded with the San Francisco 49ers to acquire the 67th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft to select Tennessee Volunteers running back Alvin Kamara.
The Saints sent a 2018 second-round pick to the 49ers, along with a seventh-round pick this year for the chance to take Kamara. It's an intriguing move for a New Orleans team who just added Adrian Peterson to go along with Mark Ingram in the backfield. Not an every down runner, Kamara excels as a pass-catching back, despite his unimpressive pass-blocking ability.
Kamara recorded just 210 carries for 1,294 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns at Tennessee but snagged 74 catches for 683 yards and 7 touchdowns in his two seasons.
