Bengals take the risk and select Joe Mixon with the 48th pick
The Cincinnati Bengals selected Oklahoma Sooners running back Joe Mixon with the 48th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
An exceptional talent, Mixon slid in the draft after video surfaced of an off-field incident in 2014 where the running back pled guilty to assault charges. He possesses lightning fast speed, excels in pass protection, and can catch the ball out of the backfield. He's expected to supplant Jeremy Hill on Cincinnati's depth chart and compete with Giovani Bernard for starting touches.
Mixon finished his two-year career at Oklahoma with 2,921 total yards and 26 touchdowns on 300 carries and 65 receptions.
