Bills trade up to take wideout Zay Jones 37th overall
The Buffalo Bills traded up with the Rams to select East Carolina Pirates wide receiver Zay Jones with the 37th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
The Bills gave up picks 44 and 91 in exchange for 37 and 149 in the deal. Jones will make an immediate impact on the field by providing the Bills a solid compliment to Sammy Watkins in the receiving core. He owns excellent speed and hands and posted a 94th-percntile SPARQ score and ran a 4.43 40-yard dash. Jones broke the FBS single-season record with 158 receptions in his senior season while dropping only six passes.
In four seasons, Jones set an East Carolina record with 399 career receptions and is second in school history with 23 touchdowns and 4,279 receiving yards.
