Raiders, Seahawks exchange 2018 picks in Marshawn Lynch deal

The Oakland Raiders acquired running back Marshawn Lynch and a 2018 sixth-round pick from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a 2018 fifth-round pick.

What It Means:

This is pending a physical in Oakland on Wednesday that Lynch should pass without any issues. The 31-year-old back is signing a two-year deal with the Raiders that essentially amounts to a one-year agreement with an option for the second. Lynch last played in 2015 and it was one of the least productive and inefficient of his NFL career, so there's some warranted skepticism regarding his fantasy outlook. That said, he'll be running behind an offensive line that opened up 12 rushing touchdowns (fifth-most in the NFL) for Latavius Murray last season, so the situation is about as good as it gets.

The Raiders finished 16th in the league in schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play last season. Among the 44 backs with at least 100 carries in 2015, Lynch ranked 28th in Rushing NEP per attempt.
