Mark Ingram won't see reduced role if Saints sign Adrian Peterson
New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram is expected to remain the starter even if Adrian Peterson is signed, according to Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate.
The Saints toted the rock 404 times in 2016 so there will be plenty of work to go around for both Ingram and Peterson in the backfield, especially following Tim Hightower's departure in free agency. Peterson doesn't bring anything to the passing game, so Ingram will be the superior option in PPR formats.
According to Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play last season, Ingram was among the league's elite, averaging 0.06 Rushing NEP per play, which ranked seventh among the 33 runners with at least 125 carries.
