Mike Gillislee officially a Patriot after Bills fail to match

Running back Mike Gillislee is officially a member of the New England Patriots after the Buffalo Bills declined to match a two-year, $6.4 million offer sheet.

What It Means:

The Bills will be compensated with the Patriots' fifth-round pick (163rd overall). Gillislee was extremely efficient as LeSean McCoy's primary backup last season, leading all qualified backs with 5.71 yards per carry while scoring nine touchdowns in 15 games. New England's backfield now includes Gillislee, Dion Lewis, Rex Burkhead and James White.

Gillislee finished the 2016 season with 627 total yards and nine touchdowns while posting 0.30 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt -- ranking him first overall out of the 42 running backs with at least 100 carries.
