The Jacksonville Jaguars have yet to make a decision on quarterback Blake Bortles’ fifth-year option, general manager Dave Caldwell said.
"We’re still discussing that," said Caldwell. "There are a lot of things that go into it." The option is worth $18 million, an obviously unrealistic number for a player who is barely NFL starter. Jacksonville has until May 3 to decide.
Bortles had the 10th-worst Passing Net Expected Points per drop back this season among the 39 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs. As a team, the Jaguars ranked 24th in the NFL in schedule-adjusted Offensive Net Expected Points per play.
