Richard Sherman

Seahawks putting out offers actively to trade Richard Sherman

The Seattle Seahawks are not just fielding calls on cornerback Richard Sherman, and have "initiated trade talks," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports.

What It Means:

Per Fowler, the talks have "ranged from fact-finding to more serious discussions." Fowler reports "multiple people in the league have concluded" acquiring Sherman would likely require parting with a high draft pick. The Miami Herald has reported it would take both a high pick and "very good player." The Seahawks are wise to set an initial high price, but seem more eager to move Sherman than they've been letting on.

The Seahawks' secondary ranked just 15th last season in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play, but that had a lot to do with injuries at safety.
