Jordan Matthews

Jordan Matthews is 'a big part' of Philadelphia's offense

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews is "a big part of what we do," said head coach Doug Pederson.

What It Means:

"Jordan...and Carson [Wentz] have a great relationship," Pederson said. "He's a dynamic slot guy, he's a little bit bigger guy, he works well in there." The additions of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith will almost certainly cut into Matthews' role, but the 24-year-old wideout should still push for 100 targets in his fourth year in the NFL. He's a decent bet to return WR3 production in an offense that lacks any real rushing attack.

Among the 41 wide receivers to top 100 targets in 2016, Matthews was 33rd in Reception Net Expected Points per target. His 804 receiving yards and three touchdowns were both personal lows.
