Jordan Reed

Jordan Reed will be the focal point of Washington's offense

Washington head coach Jay Gruden said "the offense runs through" tight end Jordan Reed.

What It Means:

Gruden said this in response to a question about DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon both leaving in free agency. The only drawback with Reed is his availability. He played in only 12 games last season and has never played more than 14 in his career. Despite the missed time, his six touchdowns in 2016 were still tied for seventh-most among all tight ends. Reed remains an elite TE1 when on the field, but that's never a guarantee.

Out of the 35 tight ends to see 40-plus targets last season, Reed was a middling 18th in Reception Net Expected Points per target. However, his 74.2 percent catch rate (66-of-89 targets) was fifth-best in that same group.
